  • Settling in to the 2024-25 School Year

As we settle in to the school year, educators are most likely still working at building relationships with and among their students, and while most students are meeting behavioral and academic expectations, many are not.  And from what many teachers have told me, even those who are meeting expectations seem to lack the motivation to expend more than the minimum effort.

Whether you are looking for: 1) ways to engage students;  2) uses of AI in education; 3) ways to integrate SEL into the curriculum 4) exciting book studies;5) how to help anxious or depressed students; 6) how to take care of yourself in stressful times and more, The WNY Teacher Center is here to help.  Please take a look at all our excellent free courses and book studies in our Frontline Course Catalog.

Also, our poster-maker, laminator and Ellison Cut-Out can help you enhance your classroom atmosphere.

Please plan to visit the Western NY Teacher Center (Erie 1 BOCES Education Campus, 355 Harlem Rd. West Seneca, NY, Building C, Room C-141), peruse our available resources, and/or use our state-of-the-art color poster maker and laminator. The Teacher Center is open for your use Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, but we recommend emailing  Director Jon Erwin (jerwin@e1b.org) to make an appointment.

Welcome

  • The Western New York Teacher Center is a collaborative of educators from eight (7) school districts: Cheektowaga CSD, Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD ,Cleveland Hill UFSD, Depew UFSD, Erie 1 BOCES, Lancaster CSD and Maryvale USFSD schools, Buffalo State College, parents, and local businesses. Our center provides high-quality, no-cost professional learning opportunities and resources to advance innovative, best-practices instruction and meet the various needs of the teachers in our consortium. Our instructors are master teachers who are (or have recently been) "in the trenches" and love to share their knowledge, skills, and expertise with other educators.

The WNY Teacher Center is open for teachers to use Tuesdays through Thursday, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM by appointment only.
