Western New York Teacher Center

Welcome

  • The Western New York Teacher Center is a collaborative of educators from eight (7) school districts: Cheektowaga CSD, Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD ,Cleveland Hill UFSD, Depew UFSD, Erie 1 BOCES, Lancaster CSD and Maryvale USFSD schools, Buffalo State College, parents, and local businesses. Our center provides high-quality, no-cost professional learning opportunities and resources to advance innovative, best-practices instruction and meet the various needs of the teachers in our consortium. Our instructors are master teachers who are (or have recently been) "in the trenches" and love to share their knowledge, skills, and expertise with other educators.

The WNY Teacher Center Summer Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday, by Appointment Only.

Announcements

  • Teacher Center Summer 2024

The Western NY Teacher Center is thrilled to announce that after a stressful couple of weeks back in April (when we were informed that the Teacher Center budget was reduced by 1/3), we have once again received full funding and therefore will be able to continue to offer all of our workshops, book studies, and shared learning communities at NO COST. In addition, our poster-maker, Ellison cutouts, and laminator services will continue to be free.

We are also excited that we had an overwhelming response to this year’s RFP (request for proposals). Therefore, we can offer dozens of new professional learning opportunities taught by many new Teacher Center instructors, all experienced teachers who understand the challenges and opportunities you experience.

Please plan to visit the all-new Western NY Teacher Center (Erie 1 BOCES Education Campus, 355 Harlem Rd. West Seneca, NY, Building C, Room C-141), peruse our available resources, and/or use our state-of-the-art color poster maker and laminator. Our summer hours vary so please email Director Jon Erwin (jerwin@e1b.org) to make an appointment.
