    Personal:

I grew up spending time between my parents houses, mom in the Albany area and dad down in the finger lakes.   Spending most of my free time playing and studying the guitar.  If I didn't have a 6 string in my hands I was probably riding my mountain bike; sometimes as far as Lake George (about 50 miles).  Splitting time between the edge of the Adirondacks and the beautiful valleys of the finger lakes region made a great back drop for growing up.

Part of growing up to me meant being in bands, which I was in quite a few through high school and college.  Performing music from nearly every genera in the pantheon including Hard rock, Funk, neo-classical Flamenco, soul, R&B, and of course, my first love,  Jazz.

    Education and Experience:

I grew up in the capitol district and graduated from  Niskayuna High School in 1992.  From there I went on to Schenectady County Community College for one year before transferring to Buffalo State College where I majored in Jazz Guitar.  I was the first student in the SUNY system to graduate with a degree (BA) in music performance applied instrument jazz guitar.

After graduating in 1997 I began teaching at various parochial schools in the Buffalo area finding that I enjoyed it enough to go back to school and earn my teaching certificate immediately getting hired by the Buffalo Public School District.  By 2005 I had earned my ED.M. General Education with a concentration in Music and was teaching in West Seneca Central School District.  Currently I am employed by Erie 1 BOCES as their only music teacher; providing music instruction to 7th and 8 graders In line with NYS Standards for the Arts and in accordance with the New York State Curriculum guide.
