Re: Working Papers
This is a high school Work Study Program. Our curriculum revolves around building good work skills and habits in a variety of settings. From arrival to dismissal, we stress and practice skills that will enable your child to reach their maximum level of independence. To simulate as close to a real work situation as possible, students will receive a small paycheck, based on jobs they perform in the classroom, at school, a workshop or in the community. To receive a paycheck, BOCES must have on file working papers, a photo copy of your child’s social security card and a W-4 tax form.
To secure working papers for your child, you must follow your home districts procedures. Call your districts administration building to find out the requirements and follow them to the letter. All students 15 – 17 must have working papers. Your child must be present to sign for the working papers.
W-4 forms can be completed at school. We can also photocopy your child’s SS card.
A delay in securing this information will result in no paycheck and missed job training opportunities.
