I use various recourses to teach my Algebra, Geometry and Applied Math classes.Topics covered in Algebra are the following:Solving Linear Equations and Inequalities, Graphing Linear Equations and Inequalities, Linear Systems, Functions, Polynomials and Exponents, Sequences, Factoring, Solving Quadratics, Graphing Quadratics, Graphing Mixed Functions and Statistics.Topics covered in Geometry are the following:
Reasoning in Geometry, Segment Measure and Coordinate Graphing, Angles, Parallels, Triangles and Congruence, Quadrilaterals, Proportions and Similarity, Polygons and Area, Circles, Surface Area And Volume and Right Triangels.
Topics covered in Applied Math are the following:
Earning Money, Buying Food, Shopping for Clothes, Managing A Household, Buying and Maintaing a Car, Working With Food, Improving Your Home, Traveling, Budgeting Your Money, Banking and Investing, Paying Taxes, Preparing for Careers.In addition to the student’s regular coursework they are involved in various mini projects and projects throughout the school year. A few projects that I involve my students in are choosing a career and surviving in the real world on their salary, students will also participate in a Virtural Vacation Project to pretend to travel across the USA.
