DISCOVER, EXPLORE, & CREATE!!The class consists of students from various component districts with many unique talents and skill levels. Working together as a team or on individual projects, students learn and build on their existing technical knowledge, meet new friends, manage time, prioritize, and communicate effectively to produce quality assignments.Class projects and tutorials are given on a day to day basis and the level of difficulty depends on the student, their work ethic, and their desire to broaden their skills and abilities.WHAT's GOING ON IN THE CLASSROOM
WHO SUNK MY BATTLESHIP
Battleship is an interactive game and an ongoing year-long project where students apply programming skills and computer techniques learned throughout the course. This is but one of the many encompassing, fun, and realistic projects that allows students to fit together the programming and Web design pieces they're mastering and troubleshoot their work into a real world, hands-on, and comprehensive application. This type of all inclusive project gives a firsthand perspective on starting an application in the beginning stages and seeing it through to completion. The educational rewards are documented, the end-of-year portfolio piece is extraordinary, but the student pride of accomplishment is priceless!!Other electronic game programming activities created in class include: Tic-Tac-Toe, Dice, Hangman, Matching, and a slew of simplier projects that all build on learned programming code to enhance and engage both the programmer and the user.WEB PAGE DESIGNSure! it's easy to build a Web page these days, BUT....do you really know the taggingsystem behind your Web site? How about making forms and connecting databases tomanipulate information both given and sent?What about design? Can you keep your Web visitor on your site? How creative are you?These are all the things (and more) that students learn with the latest and most cutting edge technologies to include basic XHTML, FrontPage, DreamWeaver, and Studio MX programs.Throughout the year students create and have fun building Web sites that are interesting to them! Insert your favorite colors, make your own cartoon insignia, have fun with video, sounds, and music.Web Page design and basic Internet understanding has something for everyone.
