Mr. Gatto’s Classroom Conduct
1. Talking during classroom instruction will not be tolerated. When I’m teaching, you should be listening. Not following this rule will hurt more than you could know. You will miss key points of information, which will be on future evaluative opportunities.
2. Be here on time. Tardiness in the “real” world is not tolerated and will not be here, either.
3. Refrain from unnecessary profanity.
4. Assignments will be turned in on time and completed.
5. No sleeping in my class.
6. No horseplay.
7. All the books on bookcases in my room are mine, personally. If you wish to use one you are more than welcome, however, you need to let me know so I can check it out to you. I would like to keep them. And yes, I’ve read them all.
8. Guest lecturers will be treated with more respect than you’ve ever afforded anybody. These individuals are going out of their way to help you in your education. How benevolent of them!
9. Breaks will be given periodically based on the instruction load for the day.
10. Students will leave the class only when they have permission.
The aforementioned rules are very simple and non-demanding, in fact they are the basic rules of a civilized society and the average workplace. They provide a safe and controlled environment in which all students can learn, grow, and achieve their full potential.
You will take from this class much more than an advanced Criminal Justice education. You will have many of life’s skills and lessons behind you and mastered.

Food andHaving food or drinks in my class is a privilege, not a right. As always in life, with a privilege, comes a responsibility.· Clean up after yourself. So throw your trash out; put the bottles in the recycle bin.· If you have a spill, inform me immediately. You will be allowed to retrieve the proper materials to clean it up. That’s the mature way to handle it. (As much as I like nature, I’d like to keep it there.)· You will not eat or drink noisy food during my lecture or class instruction time.
· Food will go in your mouth, or in the trash.
If you violate any of these simple responsibilities, you will lose the privilege.- First time will be for the day.
- Second will be for one week
- Third will be for the remainder of the year.
