• Class Participation Grading

    Daily Grade Policy
    As much as 90% of the information disseminated in this class comes directly from me.  Knowing this makes it clear why presence is paramount to success.

    Daily grade consists of 20 points (100 for a week) this makes up your class participation grade, and the points are earned not given.
     
    BOCES Class time equals 3 Classes.  1 Day absent is like missing 3 days at the home school.  That is HUGE.

     

     

    There are 5 aspects to the daily grade

     Punk

    Attitude- Don’t have one.  Students will exhibit a positive and professional attitude with everyone.

     

    Attendance-  Be in class and be here on time, if you’re not here, you can’t earn a daily grade.

    Behavior- Students will be mature and refrain from offensive behavior.

     

    Participation- A large part of my class involves interaction.   Students are expected to give input, to involve themselves in class discussion/debates.  Contribute to the good of the class.

     supplies

    Preparedness- Students will have their materials, whatever they may be for that particular class or they will lose points.  I may not check everyday, but they should be prepared everyday.

     

    Any day that school is closed, or a student’s home school doesn’t send, will result in an automatic 20 for the daily grade.

     

    Absences will go in my book as a “0” for class participation.  It makes sense, if you’re not here, you can’t participate in that class.

     

    If you are tardy, you will start your daily grade with a “10”, no matter how late you are.

     

    And late means you’re not in my room when the bell rings.
