Autism Speaks is a website dedicated to the needs of those with autism and their families as well as presenting current research, advocacy, diagnosis and treatment. Another website tracks research studies on autism.  The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development has a website that addresses possible causes and treatments for autism along with current news.      
     
    Asperger's Syndrome
    Asperger's Connection offers excellent free short on-line courses that educate and support individuals working with those with Asperger's, along with other resources. 
    The O.A.S.I.S. website offers support and information along with diagnostic information and a bookstore.
    The British website Asperger's Syndrome Foundation offers numerous articles including subjects such as diagnosis, sensory issues, careers and employment, as well as information for partners of adults with Asperger's.      
     
    Educating a child with Autism and/or Asperger's Syndrome

    The Parent Network of Western New York offers resources for parents of children with many kinds of special needs, including autism.

    Movies and Film
    Many movies and films address the subject of autism, including HBO's "Temple Grandin" (2010), "Adam" (2009), "Max and Mary" (claymation 2009), "Snow Cake" (2006), "Mozart and the Whale" (2005), "Molly" (1999) and the critically acclaimed "Rain Man"(1988). 
    Documentaries about autism include "The Horse Boy" (2009) and "Autism the Musical" (2007) which is about five children with autism who write and produce their own musical. Another documentary "Autism is a World" (2003) tells the story of a girl who who communicates only through a keyboard.
